Porter missing in Mt Dhaulagiri

MYAGDI, April 23:One porter has gone missing in Myagdi's Mt. Dhaulagiri, while two porter have been successfully retrieved.

Mt Dhaulagiri, which stands at 8,167 meters, is located in Ward No. 4 of Myagdi's Dhaualagiri Rural Municipality. They were buried in an avalanche on Friday evening while returning after delivering the climbers' belongings to the Dhaulagiri base camp.

Amrit Rai, 20, of Nuthala Phuleli village, Solukhumbu, Solukhumbu, has gone missing, according to Indrasingh Sherchan of Myagdi Dana, who arrived at Dhaulagiri base camp by helicopter on Saturday to look for the missing individual.

Dhiraj Rai and Arjun Rai of the same location, who went missing with Amrit, were successfully retrieved by a team of Sherpa on Saturday and transferred to the Italian base camp, according to Sherchan.

They arrived as porters from Seven Summit Trek Kathmandu. They became trapped in an avalanche near the Japanese base camp.
