Air flights affected due to storm

KATHMANDU, April 21:Air flights from Tribhuvan International Airport have been affected due to the storm.

Domestic and international flights were impacted by the storm, which began in the afternoon, according to Airport General Manager Pratap Babu Tiwari.

Domestic planes, he said, have been "delayed," while some international flights have been "held" for an hour due to the constant wind.

Vistara Air from New Delhi, India, and Qatar Airways from Doha, Qatar, were both delayed for more than an hour.

Because of the severe wind, all flights from the airport have been canceled. Domestic flights have landed due to decreased wind in the middle, however domestic flights have been suspended again due to the storm. "Two international ships have been placed on hold," General Manager Tiwari stated.

According to the weather prediction section of the Department of Water and Meteorology, several parts of the country are experiencing light to transitory rainfall due to the effect of western winds as well as local winds.

Since the afternoon, there has been light to moderate rain in the Kathmandu valley.
