Fee for US citizen to obtain a study visa in Nepal decreased by $200

KATHMANDU, April 19: The cost of obtaining a study visa in Nepal for Americans has been decreased by $200.

According to the Department of Immigration, when Nepal offers study visas to US residents with US passports, the fee is merely US$160. It was previously 360 bucks. The decision was made by the Council of Ministers on March 14th. The reduced duty went into effect on April 14, 2023.

According to Kamal Prasad Pandey, the department's spokeswoman, this decision was reached on the basis of mutuality between the two countries. A year ago, the US government reduced the visa fee for students going to study in US to $160. Nepali students have also been subjected to this rule. As a result of reciprocity, Nepal has set the charge for a 5-year multiple visa (study) at only $160.
