Tara Air operates more than a 12 daily flights from Manthali to Lukla
KATHMANDU, April 18:With the beginning of the tourist season, various airlines have begun flying more than 48 flights from Ramechhap's Manthali Airport to Solukhumbu's Lukla for tourists visiting the Everest region.
With a growth in the number of visitors undertaking mountain climbing and trekking, air flights in Lukla, which is considered the gateway to Mount Everest, have surged.
Tara Air's TwinOtter aircraft operates 10 to 15 daily flights from Manthali Airport to Lukla during this season.
Airlines have recently begun flying to Lukla from Manthali as air traffic at Tribhuvan International Airport has increased. The Civil Aviation Authority is flying to Lukla from Ramechhap's Manthali Airport, which is particularly busy during the tourist season.This airport also serves Tara Air, Summit, and Sita.
Because one plane can only conduct two to three daily flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to Lukla, flights from Manthali have begun. At the moment, a single plane is flying to this location eight to ten times every day.
Tara Air spokesperson Sudarshan Bartaula stated that a single Tara plane has been doing five to eight trips daily from Manthali to Lukla. Tara presently operates two planes on this route.
He claims that foreign tourists can easily reach Manthali by vehicle from Kathmandu in the morning and then fly from Manthali to Lukla the same day.
Tara Air conducts flights from Manthali to Lukla, as well as Pokhara to Jomsom and Nepalgunj to Rara, Humla, Bajura, Jumla, Dolpa, and other remote regions.
