Bharat Lake visited by about 4 lakh tourists

SARLAHI, April 17:On New Year's Day, almost 400,000 tourists visited Bharat Lake in Bagmati in Sarlahi.

On Friday, there was a traffic jam on the East-West Highway near Bharat Lake due to automobiles and people.

More than 12,000 people took the boat to Bharat Lake on New Year's Day.

The boat operator has made over 25 lakh rupees as a result of this.

The municipality requires boat traders to pay a tax of 20% of their earnings. The municipality generated approximately 7 lakh rupees from the lake alone on New Year's Day.

Thousands of tourists from Sarlahi, Rautahat, Sindhuli, Bara, Mahottari, and other districts, as well as from India, arrived at Bharat Lake on Friday.

Bharat Lake, which covers an area of 121 bighas in Bagmati Municipality 12, has become a popular tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors.

Thousands of people visit Bharat Lake every day to enjoy a boat ride. On holidays and special festivals, there are crowds here.

The lake currently has 31 boats in operation. The cost of a boat ride ranges from 300 to 1000 rupees per person. The costs have been set by businessmen based on the boat's amenities and level.

This lake's development, which began four years ago, is still unfinished. So far, 600 million rupees have been spent on the lake's construction. This lake has been providing revenue to the municipality for the past two years.
