Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of FNCCI has five priorities

KATHMANDU:The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has elected Chandra Prasad Dhakal as its President. According to the federation's constitution, Dhakal was elected as the 20th president of the FNCCI at the 57th general assembly on Thursday.

Dhakal received the oath of office and secrecy from outgoing President Shekhar Golchha on Friday. After taking the oath of office, newly elected President Dhakal declared that his long-running attempts to build agreement had finally paid off.

He stated that Umesh Lal Shrestha and the prior presidents have a significant role to play in this and expressed his optimism that as president, the image of the FNCCI will improve.

As the newly elected president of the FNCCI, Dhakal will prioritize five issues in the coming term: first, preparing a strategy to address the current economic crisis, second, creating an investment environment, third, strengthening the partnership between the state and the private sector, fourth, producing skilled labor and creating jobs, and fifth, for businessmen. He stated that in order to boost morale, the work of identifying the position of the private sector in the order of dignity of the state has been prioritized.

Dhakal, the recently elected President, is a first-generation successful entrepreneur-businessman. Dhakal, who has served on the federation's executive committee for two terms, has held positions such as investment committee chairman, chairman of the employers' council, associate vice president, and senior vice president.
