NATTA to conduct a 'sales mission' in China to promote tourism

KATHMANDU, April 14:The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) will conduct a'sales mission' in China to promote tourism.

According to NATTA, following the covid pandemic, a'sales mission' would be conducted in China's three key commercial towns, Chengdu, Khuming, and Beijing, from April 14 to April 21, 2023, in partnership with the Nepal Tourism Board and the Nepal Embassy in Beijing. All preparations for this, according to NATTA, have been completed.

Varun Mehta, Vice President of NATTA, is in charge of organizing this year's Nepal-China Sales Mission.

Under the supervision of Varun Mehta, the association's vice president and program coordinator, a total of 37 Nepalese tourism professionals are traveling to China to promote the industry.

In three places, the team will give a presentation regarding Nepal's tourism. There is also a program to 'B2B' with local tour operators and to inform the local media about Nepal's tourist attractions.

He also stated that the Nepali Embassy in Beijing will host a special conference of local government agencies and tourism companies in conjunction with Natta's promotional drive.

As a result of the Chinese government's national reform and open door policy since 1978, the number of Chinese tourists visiting foreign nations has surged. Following the Covid-19 in March of last year, the Chinese authorities allowed citizens to travel.

Nepal is also on the list of nations that have prepared their nationals to visit, and it is expected that this sales mission would greatly increase the number of Chinese visitors visiting Nepal.

The tour team for the sales mission will include Varun Mehta, vice president and mission coordinator of NATTA, and Yubika Bhandari, secretary and mission coordinator of NATTA, as well as two Nepal Tourism Board members and one Air China representative.

This China Sales Mission is expected to support Nepal's efforts to re-launch tourism in the context of NATTA's worldwide sales missions, marts, and exhibitions to re-launch the tourism business damaged by Covid.
