KATHMANDU, April 13:On the occasion of the New Year, the first Kopche Festival will be held at Dhankuta's Kopche.

The first Kopche Festival will be held with the goal of informing the general public about the "Kopche Revival Campaign." Due to a lack of road extension, the area of Dhankuta headquarters, which has to come for shopping even from Bhojpur and Tehrathum districts, has recently become deserted.

The organizers of the first Kopche Festival announced a news conference at the Kopche of Dhankuta headquarters with the goal of safeguarding and promoting historical, cultural, and ecological originality.

Rijan Pokhrel, president of the organizing group, said that the inaugural Kopche Festival will be held from the 14th to the 16th of May 2023 in Bihibare Hatia, Dhankuta Municipality-5, for the protection and development of indigenous Newari and Athapaharia art, culture, costumes, lifestyle, and food.

The festival, according to the organizer, will be conducted with the major slogan of 'Protection of originality, development of tourist,' and there will be 15 stalls spanning all sectors in the festival, with the goal of attracting around 20,000 domestic and external tourism.
