Fewa New year festival begins

POKHARA, April 12:On Wednesday, the 18th Fewa New Year Festival began at Pokhara's Lakeside. The Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal-organized three-day festival focuses on tourism, culture, and gastronomy. At the festival, there will be a variety of food dishes and cultural acts, as well as panche baja, dance, singing, song, and music programs.

The festival was opened by Dhanraj Acharya, the head of the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality. The festival will take place on the street  from Khar to Fishtail Gate. Laxman Subedi, chairman of the organizing association and festival organiser, announced a 20% reduction on stated hotel prices on the occasion of the event. He stated that the festival aims to revitalize the tourism industry, which has been harmed by the migration of businesspeople for a variety of reasons, including the Covid-19 and the loss of thousands of jobs.On the occasion, he expressed his gratitude to the various tableaux and mothers groups who participated in the festival.

Binayak Shah, the Hotel Association of Nepal's first vice president, stated that the government and business sector should collaborate to develop flights from Pokhara International Airport to international nations. He stated that the government should provide direction on how the country will proceed after Corona. He stated that the national strategy should be clearly defined.

On that occasion, Hari Prasad Sharma Gaihre, president of Hotel Association Nepal Gandaki, asked that foreign planes begin operating from Pokhara's new airport as soon as feasible, even if it required diplomatic efforts. He expressed regret that Pokhareli's ambition of flying overseas from here has yet to be realized, and questioned whether the Pokhara airport was opened in haste.

The request to proclaim Pokhara a tourism city has reached the chief secretary's desk, according to Chief Metropolitan Acharya, and if the federal government does not announce it, the province government and the metropolis will jointly announce it. Along with this declaration, he stated that Ratna Mandir and Himagriha will be open to the public. He stated that the issue of foreign flights from Pokhara's new airport has been carefully discussed with the government and that the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal should be as concerned about it. 

Pomnarayan Shrestha, chairman of the Pokhara Tourism Council, stated that the topic was discussed with the Prime Minister in order to begin operating international flights from Pokhara's new airport as soon as possible. He also stated that negotiations had taken place regarding the expeditious advancement of the Prithviraj Highway upgrade. He also stated that discussions with the Prime Minister were made in order to solve the challenges that businessmen were experiencing as a result of excessive bank interest rates.

Anil Shahi, Assistant Chief District Officer of Kaski, Deepak Shrestha, First Vice President of the Organizing Association, and Rama Lamichhane, President of the Kshatri Women's Group, also spoke on the occasion. Aarti was performed on behalf of Talbarahi Aarti Sewa Samiti in the program. 

Rajendra Dhakal, the association's general secretary and campaign organizer, hosted the event. The festival's principal sponsor is Baharsinge Wear, while the Annapurna cable car is a co-sponsor. The Nepal Tourism Board promotes the festival, which is sponsored by the Pokhara Metropolitan City.
