Nepal-US friendship team to climb Mt. Denali in Alaska

KATHMANDU, April 12: The joint climbing team of Nepal and America is going to climb Mount Denali in Alaska, USA.

This is the second team to climb this way. The team is making the ascent this year to mark the 60th anniversary of the first US citizen to climb Mount Everest.

Mount Denali is the highest peak in America.

During an event in Kathmandu, Garrett E. Wilkerson, Public Affairs Officer at the US Embassy Nepal, presented the flag of the US-Nepal Friendship Team.

The campaign, which will begin this year, will be led by Pasang Phurba Shepa on behalf of Nepal, and Mark Parella on behalf of the United States. The Nepali team includes climbers who have set world and national records.

Other members of the team are Lakpa Dendi Sherpa, Thaneshwar Guragai, Mingma Tenji Shepa, Chhiring Pemba Sherma, Pemba Nurbu Sherpa, Pasang Gelu Sherpa and Gelji Sherpa.
