'Thamel Street Festival' on New Year's Eve

KATHMANDU, April 11: A grand cultural program will be held in the tourist city of Thamel on the eve of Nepali New Year 2080. Thamel Tourism Development Council is organizing a 'New Year's Eve Thamel Street Festival' on the eve of the start of New Year 2080 in order to make Nepali New Year recognized at the international level.

The council announced at a press conference that the festival will be held in front of the staff fund on Thamel Tridevi Marg on the eve of the new year, on Thursday 13th April at 6.30 pm, the festival's chief guest will be Balendra Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.Various programs reflecting Nepali original art will be presented during the festival. 

The year 2079 will be commemorated with a variety of musical and cultural events, according to organizers. The festival will conclude at 12:30 am by ushering in the year 2080.

Furthermore, on the eve of the new year, various businessmen from all areas of Thamel will promote their goods and services and introduce Thamel as a national and international appealing destination.

The festival will be attended by the heads and representatives of various agencies, as well as officials from tourism-related associations.

The Thamel Tourism Development Council has stated that it is working to restore operations to Thamel, a tourist area affected by the Corona pandemic. The council promotes tourism in Thamel in collaboration with local businesses, property owners, and government agencies.

According to the council, the number of tourists visiting the Thamel area has increased with the arrival of the spring season. According to the council, the increase in tourists has given Thamel's businessmen new hope.

The musical and cultural program organized on the occasion of the New Year has given the council hope that it will aid in the promotion of tourism in the Thamel region.

Thamel Street Festival, organized by Thamel Tourism Development Council on New Year's Eve, will promote tourism in the Thamel area, so the council has invited domestic and foreign visitors to welcome Nepali New Year 2080 in Thamel.

The council anticipates that approximately one lakh people will attend the festival.
