Tourism goodwill ambassadors appointment terminated

KATHMANDU, April 11:The appointment of all Tourism Goodwill Ambassador has been terminate by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. The appointment of all previous tourism goodwill ambassadors has been terminated by the Minister of Tourism.

Minister Kirati stated that by approving the Tourism Promotion Relating Procedures, 2079 BS, all current goodwill ambassadors were terminated. However, the new procedure has made it possible for them to be reappointed after completing the processes.

Previously, tourism goodwill ambassadors were appointed for various countries without a formal process. Because they are unpaid goodwill ambassadors, the ministry has stated that they will be organized in such a way that they are not motivated by various benefits and selfishness, but rather perform their roles in an open and transparent manner.

Prior to the procedures being implemented, tourism goodwill ambassadors were appointed. The term 'goodwill ambassadors' has also been replaced by 'tourism promoters' by the Ministry.
