Committee formed to study NAC
KATHMANDU, April 08:The government has formed a committee to investigate the structural and managerial aspects of Nepal Airlines Corporation, which is owned by the government (NAC).
A five-member committee has been formed, with former Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri as chairman. The committee includes Om Gurung (captain), Tikaram Rai (media), Piyus Anand (chartered accountant), and Sahara Neupane.
Following the study, the committee will prepare a report and make recommendations to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation. The NAC has nearly Rs. 50 billion in debt from the purchase of new planes.
For international flights, the NAC currently uses two wide-body A330s and two narrow-body A320s, as well as two Twin-Otter planes for domestic flights.
