Street food festival to be held in Bandipur to promote tourism
KATHMANDU, April 06:A street food festival will be held in Bandipur, a tourist town in Tanahun, to promote tourism there.
Tanahun Industry and Commerce Association Bandipur, Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, Regional Hotel Association, and REBAN Tanahun collaborated to organize the festival, which will take place from April 13th to April 15th.
Kisan Pradhan, chairman of the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, stated that they plan to hold a street food festival with the slogan "Eat on the road, enjoy on the road, promote domestic and foreign tourists."
"Bandipur's tourism is gradually returning to normal; we believe that the street food festival planned for the new year will aid in tourism promotion," he said.
Tourists will be able to sit and eat in front of the hotels in the market on the day of the street food festival. "Also, various cultural programs will be organized for three days, displaying the culture of different castes," President Pradhan said.
Surendra Thapa, Chairman of Bandipur Rural Municipality, stated that the festival was organized to create a fun atmosphere in their own district as the district's youth travel to Pokhara and Chitwan in the new year, and that it will aid in tourism promotion.
Foreign tourists visit Bandipur, particularly from China, France, and Germany. According to hotelier Vaish Gurung, foreign tourists are drawn here by the climate, lifestyle, customs, and old houses.
Bandipur is reached after an eight-kilometer uphill journey from Dumre.
From where one can observe Bandipur, which is full of natural beauty, the snow ranges from Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Dhawalagiri etc. .
There are 77 small and big hotels affiliated to the Hotel Association in Bandipur. Hotels like Green Park, Hotel Darbar Himalaya Fewa, Gambar, Woldin, Bandipur Mountain Resort, Bandipur Palace, Magar Vizel are operating in Bandipur.
