CAAN takes action against Yuvaraj Adhikari Executive Chairman of NAC

KATHMANDU, April 05: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has taken action against Yuvaraj Adhikari, Executive Chairman of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).

The Adhikari  has taken action for violating the ramp protocol. The CAAN's spokesperson, Jagannath Niraula, stated that a letter was issued for action because the ramp safety protocol was not followed when entering the airport.

Nepal Airlines' Kathmandu-Dubai-Kathmandu flight was flown by a female crew on March 7. A female crew member flew an international flight for the first time in the company's history.

Following the plane's arrival in Kathmandu from Dubai, Executive Chairman Adhikari and Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati arrived at the airport to greet the crew members. The executive chairman officer was not wearing the airport pass and jacket as required by ramp protocol at the time. The CAAN  raised the issue of the Adhikari not following the safety standards at the time.

"The ramp safety protocol should have been followed when entering the sensitive area, but it was not, so we asked for an explanation. His response was unsatisfactory "He stated. "We then sent them a letter requesting that they attend ramp safety protocol training."

The Chairman Adhikari  will now have seven days to complete the ramp safety protocol training and submit the certificate to the authority. Following that, a decision on whether to release or take further action will be made, according to spokesperson Niraula.
