KATHMANDU, April 05:The 18th Fewa New Year Festival will be held in Pokhara from April 12th to April 14th.

Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) Pokhara is going to organize the 18th Fewa New Year Festival on this 12th, 13th and 14th April (Chaitra 29th, 30th and Baisakh 1st). According to the HAN Pokhara's president, Laxman Subedi, the festival will be held with the goal of promoting domestic and international tourism while revitalizing tourism businesses affected by causes such as Covid-19.

While tourism affected by Corona is gradually improving, he claims that the recent Yeti Airlines plane crash in Pokhara, as well as the disorganized and slow upgrading of the Prithvi Highway, have had an impact on Pokhara tourism arrivals.

"At the same time, the hotel sector must go through a state of chaos due to the unilateral increase in interest rates by banks and financial institutions," he said.

President Subedi announced that the festival will be held on the road from Fishtail Gate Gate to Hallan Chowk in Pokhara's lakeside, and that attendees will be able to sample various cultural programs and food dishes. On the occasion of the festival, hotels under the association plan to offer discounts of up to 20%.
