Nepal Tourism Festival 2023 to be held on April 14th

KATHMANDU, April 03:Nepal Tourism Festival 2023' will be organized with the goal of policy debate and tourism advocacy, as well as internal and external tourism promotion in Nepal.

The festival will be held in Basantapur, Kathmandu, on the 14th and 15th of April, according to a press conference held on Sunday, and will be organized by Nepal Tourism Promotion (NTP) Multimedia Group with the support of Nepal Tourism Board.

According to Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma, president of NTP, the festival has been planned with the goal of promoting tourism in a new light as well as holding policy debates and discussions on tourism. According to him, the festival will be held with the goal of commemorating Baisakh 1 (April 14th) as Domestic Tourism Day. The festival will take place each year.

Maniraj Lamichhane, director of the Nepal Tourism Board, expressed his belief that the festival, along with the views of stakeholders, will play a role in tourism policy reform for sustainable tourism development. Achyut Guragai, former President of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), stated that the festival will be beneficial in developing tourism policy and planning by debating and lobbying to make Nepal's tourism policy timely.

The festival will feature ten 'sessions' focusing on the tourism of various holidays. The festival will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda,' and the final session, titled 'Politics in Tourism: Mission, Vision, and Visit Nepal,' will be held by Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati, according to the organizers.

Other sessions of the festival will be held under the slogans 'Roaming, Roaming, and Inspiring to Travel,' 'Tourism Promotion and Infrastructure Development,' Health Tourism, Film Tourism, Impact of Climate Change on Tourism and Mountain session will be conducted.

Youth tourism campaigners, tourism potential of seven provinces, heritage, 'airlines tourism' as well as various foreign ambassadors in Nepal will be discussed about Nepal experience, sports and beauty tourism.
