Around 1 Lakh tourists visited Nepal in March 2023

KATHMANDU, April 02: In March 2023, 99,426 tourists visited Nepal. According to data released by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), this is the highest number after Covid.

Last year, 42,006 tourists visited in the same month of 2022, while 15,254 people visited in 2021.

Tourism entrepreneur have interpreted this month, which is considered the main season for mountain climbing, as a season. This month saw the highest number of tourists from India, with 24,911 tourists. 

Likewise, 9,557 from the United States, 6,133 from the United Kingdom, 4,149 from Germany, 3,898 from Sri Lanka, 3,829 from Thailand, 3,635 from Australia, 3,009 from France, 2,635 from China and  2,639 from South Korean tourists have come to Nepal.

The NTB's published data only covers the air route. The number of tourists arriving by car has not been calculated.
