142 climbers of 20 teams acquire permits for climbing various peaks this spring season

KATHMANDU, March 29: As of Tuesday, 142 climber from 20 different teams had been issued climbing permits for the spring season. It has 33 females in it. The Department of Tourism  reports that 54 people from 5 teams have applied for the Annapurna First this season as of Tuesday. A second batch of permits for Mount Everest has been issued. As of Tuesday, 31 people from four different teams had obtained permission to climb Mount Everest. There are seven women in this group.

Until Tuesday, permits had been issued for ten mountains. Apart from Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Everest, the department listed 15 as Mt. Manaslu, 12 as Mt. Himlung, 6 as Mt. Pangri Goldumba, and 5/5 as Mt. Baruntse and Thorong Peak. Three for Nuptse and two for Surma Sarobar have obtained permission.

Ten Nepalese people are among those who have obtained permits to climb Mount Everest from the first group. Second place is held by eight Americans. Permission has been granted to 5 people from China, 2/2 from Australia, and 1/1 from Germany, Hungary, Singapore, and South Africa.

Climbers from 33 countries have obtained permission to climb all of the mountains so far. The majority of them are Nepalese (34 people). Second place is held by 14 Americans. 9 from South Korea, 8/8 from India, China, and Canada, according to the department. The government has collected 40.95 million rupees in royalties from mountain climbing as of Tuesday.
