'The Terraces Resort & Spa' in operation at Lakuri Bhanjyang

KATHMANDU, March 27:The covid pandemic-caused collapse of the tourism industry has prevented it from fully recovering. Compared to 2019, only about 60% of Nepal's 2019 tourist numbers have returned in 2022.

Due to a dearth of foreign visitors, according to Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), hotels and resorts are still unable to reach occupancy rates of more than 25%. The HAN predicts that it will take one to two more years to return to pre-covid pandemic conditions.

Despite the uncertainty in the tourism industry, the Ang Tshering Sherpa group has opened "The Terraces Resort and Spa" resort in Lakuri Bhanjyang, Latilpur, close to the Kathmandu Valley. Arjun Sharma's Agni Group and Sherpa's Estrec Group each contributed one billion rupees to the resort.

Sherpa claims that the resort was started with high-quality travelers in mind. He declared, "Our aim is to provide quality services in a quiet environment near the city. Our goal is to bring quality tourists."

According to him, it is more important to attract quality visitors than more quantity visitors, so attention has been given to services and facilities. From the resort in Lalitpur, which is located about 18 km from Gwarko, visitors can see a variety of snow ranges. where guests can stay in ten villas. For the purpose of providing its visitors with organic food, the resort, which is spread out over an area of about 40 ropanis, grows its own fruits and vegetables.

There are 46 rooms in all, including 2 suites, 16 deluxe rooms, and 28 standard rooms. The suite room costs 59 thousand rupees per day, the deluxe room costs 30 thousand, and the standard room costs 25 thousand.

The resort was constructed in a unique way, according to Tenzing Sherpa, managing director of the property, to give visitors a panoramic view as well as a view of the surrounding environment. Our main goal, he explained, is to get visitors outside rather than keeping them inside the room.

He claims that they are working to have the resort be recognized for its luxury level through HAN. In order to attract visitors who want to travel to Lukla, a helipad has been built in the resort.
