Bharatpur Airport to get new terminal

Bharatpur Airport to get new terminal

CHITWAN, March 27:A modern terminal building with facilities will be built at Chitwan's Bharatpur Airport. The terminal building, which was built 22 years ago, is out of date.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)plans to build a new terminal building because the current one is too old to handle the current passenger load.

Only on March 20 did the CAAN sign an agreement with the construction company for the construction of the terminal building. The CAAN  has signed a contract for the building's construction for 1.7 billion rupees (excluding taxes). The construction company has agreed to finish the building within three years.

The construction has been entrusted to KC Kshema Devi Pratishtha JV. At the airport, where Siwani Air's hangar is located, a terminal building will be built. On an area of 4,800 square meters, a two-story building will be built. The terminal building will have a total area of over 8000 square meters. Preparations have also been made to lay the building's foundation stone within the next few days.
