2,500 visitors visited in three months at Annapurna trail

KATHMANDU, March 27: The Annapurna circuit trail has seen 2,475 foreign visitors in the last three months.

From January 2023 to the present, that number of foreign tourists has arrived. 40 to 50 tourists arrive daily, according to Bahadur Gurung, tourism assistant at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) tourist screening center in Dharapani.

"There are  fewer tourists visiting this trekking route right now, possibly as a result of the global economic downturn," said Gurung.

Tourists have not visited as frequently as they did before the covid pandamic. Tourism entrepreneurs on the trekking routes are concerned about a lack of visitors.

Businessman Pancha Bahadur Gurung stated that "the thriving tourism business has been stopped for a long time due to the corona virus infection, tourists have not been able to come like in the past since the ban was removed."

Visitors travel the Annapurna trail to view the Himalayas, high mountains, Manang customs, and the surrounding natural beauty. They also climb Thorang Pass from Manang and travel to Pokhara via Mustang.\

Tourists come to Manang climbing mountains and view various peaks. Manange Chautara in Lamjung Besisahar Municipality-7 is where the Annapurna trekking route begins. This trail connects the Lamjung, Manang, Kaski, Mustang, and Myagdi districts.
