Slovak tourist dies of altitude sickness in Solukhumbu

KATHMANDU, March 23: A foreign tourist has died due to altitude sicknessin Solukhumbu's Khumbu region. Ark Janko, 68-year-old, died from Slovakia died on Monday night in Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-4 Gorakshep.

Ram Kishore Sah, District Police Office Solukhumbu Police Inspector and Information Officer, stated that Janko died due to a lack of oxygen.

According to the police, there is a problem with rescue due to the continuous snowfall in the Khumbu area. The snowfall is said to have disrupted communication services in the area.

Deepak Shrestha, DSP, District Police Office, Solukhumbu said that he was found dead while sleeping in the Himalayan Hotel in Gorakshep, Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality 4, Khumbu.
