KATHMANDU, March 21:The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN)has suspended two engineers of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) for keeping the aircraft cockpit window open all night.

Gyanendra Bhul, information officer of CAAN said that the CAAN suspended two engineers of NAC and also instructed them to form an investigation committee for necessary action.

Two aeronautical engineers of the NAC took action after the cockpit window was found open when the widebody plane was kept in the hangar overnight on March 18.

According to information officer Bhul, the two engineers who inspected the plane were grounded because the window on the left side of the cockpit of the plane was closed and the window on the right side was left open all night.

After landing the plane and taking it to the parking lot, the window should be closed properly and when the window is open there is a risk of unwanted people entering from outside and there is a risk that suspicious items can be placed in the plane, information officer Bhul said.
