Outbound Nepalis spent Rs 18 billion in seven months

KATHMANDU, March 15: Nepalis have spent 18.8 billion rupees on foreign travel in first seven months of the current fiscal year – FY2022/23.

According to the Nepak Rastra Bank's 7-month data, travel expenses have increased by 56.6 percent.

Travel expenses were 39.96 billion rupees in the previous year until January, when they increased to 62.57 billion rupees.

Those who go abroad to study have spent 43.74 billion rupees. Education cost 22 billion 600 million rupees last year.
