Nepal Telecom says network problem due to lack of coordination during infrastructure construction

KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom has damaged underground cables, aerial cables, fibers during the construction, expansion, maintenance, relocation of infrastructure such as roads, water supply, sewerage, electricity, as well as cable management by local levels.

Due to this, the service of thousands of customers has been disrupted, according to Nepal Telecom. In the last few days, the company's underground and pole structures have been damaged in various places including Thamel, Tahachal, Jyatha, Kamaladi, Kapan, Gongbu, Hattigounda, Khushibu, Tinkune (Suvidhanagar), Lubhu, Kirtipur in Kathmandu.

Likewise, Nepal Telecom has stated that there is a need for coordination and cooperation between the related agencies during the construction or expansion of the structure, and they are always ready for coordination and cooperation with all agencies.

According to Nepal Telecom, it may take some time to restart the service depending on the nature of the damage.
