POKHARA, March 03: Night flights have started at Pokhara International Airport. The 9N-AME jet aircraft of Saurya Airlines landed on Wednesday and made its first night flight.

Pokhara International Airport, which has been operational since January 1, was ready for night flights only last week. From February 23, instrument-based Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) technology was ready for night flying. However, the night flight had not started.

Before that, flying was being done according to VFR (Visual Flight Rules) technology. Although the airline company that is flying from Pokhara started preparing for the night flight, it did not start.

Spokesperson of Pokhara International Airport Jasoda Regmi said that Saurya took a night flight on Wednesday without prior planning.

Saurya had a flight in the afternoon. The weather worsened. It was raining till evening. Internally planned to fly at night. We are here to serve. We have served", she said..

According to Navdeep KC, Pokhara chief of Saurya Airlines, the 9N AME jet engine plane landed at Pokhara Airport at 8:36 PM. The aircraft came to Pokhara carrying 33 passengers from Kathmandu.

At 9:04 pm the aircraft took off from Pokhara to Kathmandu with 46 passengers. KC said that he flew at night without prior planning.

All flights were canceled due to bad weather. "We delayed without cancelling," he said.

KC said that although the flight was prepared at 6:30 p.m, it was further delayed due to air traffic.
