Permanent unit to be formed to receive complaints of abuse against women in avation sector

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: A permanent unit will be formed to receive complaints of abuse against women in the aviation sector, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati said

Speaking to journalists at the ministry on Monday, Minister Kirati said that formation of a permanent unit in the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to receive complaints on gender-based violence among others. 

Recently, the pilot of the NAC is being investigated for misbehaving with the air hostess inside the cockpit. He also informed that Minister Kirati will form a committee to investigate the problem of grounded of Nepal Airlines aircraft. 

Minister Kirati also said that the process of civil aviation education will be carried forward.

Minister Kirati also said that diplomatic initiatives will be started to operate Gautam Buddha International Airport, Bharatpur Airport will be expanded and Namaste tourist services will be expanded.

Minister Kirati also said that 5 works have been completed since he became the minister. He said that the online ticketing of Nepal Airlines has resumed. He said that there are guidelines for cleaning and managerial reforms, air safety related work, Lumbini master plan study and report as well as tight management of internet at the airport and other departmental areas.
