Demand to secure 40 billion investment in tourism sector by operating GBIA

KATHMANDU, Feb 26: UML MP Vasudev Ghimire has demanded to secure the 40 billion investment made in the tourism sector by operating the Gautam Buddha International Airport(GBIA). Speaking at zero hour of the House of Representatives on Friday, MP Ghimire said that even after one year of construction, the airport has not been fully operational.

He said that some time ago there were two flights a week but now they have stopped. As it came to the media that flights could not take place because India did not grant permission to operate the
Gautam Buddha International Airport, the concerned ministry demanded to give clear information to the Parliament in this regard.

MP Ghimire said that with the construction of the airport, more than 40 billion investment in tourism by the private sector is in crisis.
