Bar Peepal Resort to provide 7.2 percent of total sales to employees

POKHARA, Feb 20: Bar Peepal Resort in the tourist city of Pokhara has decided to give 7.2 percent of the total sales to its employees. With the order of the court, hotels and restaurants cannot take extra money from customers as service charges and taxes, Bar Peepal Resort took this decision to encourage their employees.

The resort "Bar Peepal" at Lakeside, built during the Covid-19 pandemic, has said that such a decision has been made for the employees.

The manager of the resort, Padam Neupane, said that since the Supreme Court had ordered to remove the 10 percent service charge charged by hotels and restaurants from January 26, 7.2 percent of the resort's total sales will be provided from January 29 taking into account the financial problems and the impact on the workers and employees of the resort. He said that he decided to provide the money as an incentive allowance to the employees.

He said, "Supreme Court's decision has upset the employees of hotels, resorts and restaurants." This led to an exodus of employees. With the current high prices, the money they earn is not enough to pay the room rent. How to raise a family? How to teach children? Considering that matter, it was decided to set aside a certain amount from the sale for the employees. Neupane claimed that 70 employees are working in their resort and everyone is happy.
