Tourism Minister Kirati says: Aircraft operated in Nepal should undergo regular check-up and timely replacement of spare parts :

POKHARA, Feb 17: Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has said that the planes operating in Nepal should undergo regular tests.

He said that the aircraft should be regularly checked and the parts that need to be replaced should be replaced on time.

"Any plane should not have to change parts, we can't say let's do two flights and then change," he said.

He said that he asked for detailed information about the parts that need to be regularly checked and replaced, saying that the plane is older than Nepal and is operating in America.

"I want the details of which plane has taken off and how many times, how many times it has landed, and when it should be replaced," he said.

Regarding the common man's comment that the number of accidents has increased due to the old planes in Nepal, he said that there is no safety hazard if the planes are checked regularly and parts are changed at certain times.

Giving the example of America, he said that regular inspection of the plane is more important than the old one.

The history of planes starts from America. We've read, we've read about the Wright brothers. The President of the United States is riding a 33-year-old plane, a 60-year-old plane is also flying in America. "The main thing is how the plane is maintained rather than how old it is," he said.

He said that even if the plane is brought to Nepal and kept, the necessary materials should be changed after the completion of its period.

"Even if the ship is maintained, the parts must be changed after the completion of its period, even after flying for certain hours," he said, "We cannot compromise on safety."

Airline companies have said that after the accident of Yeti Airlines ATR 72 plane on January 15, the number of air passengers coming to Pokhara has decreased by 70 percent.

Talking to reporters at Pokhara International Airport on Thursday, Minister Kirati said that he came to Pokhara to remove the panic after the accident.

He also said that there was a problem at the airport due to birds.

"There is a danger from birds due to garbage, the birds that always play and dance have not left their place," he said.
