Call for proposals for hunting in Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve

KATHMANDU, Feb 16:Applications have been invited from those interested in hunting in Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve for the upcoming season (February 2023-May 2023). The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation has called for competitive hunting on Thursday.

According to the department, Naur, Jharal and Wild Boar will be hunted through competition based on the blocks and fixed quotas in Dhorpatan hunting reserve. The department said that individuals and organizations can apply for this.

Dhorpatan is the only hunting reserve in Nepal. Here, hunting is allowed in two seasons namely October-November and February-May. Dhorpatan Shikar Arksha regulates the number of hunting permits, tourists and their activities. In Nepal, usually two dozen Naur and one dozen Jharal are hunted in two seasons. Dhorpatan hunting reserve has a total of 6 blocks. The price varies according to the block. Tourists can take the horns, skins, and skulls of the animals they have hunted to their country.
