Barahkshetra construction campaign starts in Begnas lake

POKHARA, Feb 13: A construction committee was formed on Thursday to build the Barahi Temple in Kandel Tunda, which is located in the middle of Begnas Lake.

The Begnas Lake Religious and Tourism Development Organization and Begnas Lake Barah Area Development Committee jointly formed the construction committee and the monitoring committee.

The construction committee is chaired by Dhurvanath Adhikari, vice-chairman Bishnu Subedi, secretary Deepakraj Kandel and treasurer Gangaram Subedi.

Similarly, the members are Krishna Prasad Dhungana, Surendra Kandel, Shankar Kandel, Sita Karki, Pradeepraj Kandel, Chandrakant Tiwari and Veerbhadra Kandel.

The meeting has formed a 7-member monitoring committee under the coordination of the ward president of Pokhara 31, Dhaknath Kandel. The members of the committee are Mitralal Bhandari, Sobhakhar Kandel, Sasryraj Tiwari, Shanti Khanal, Bharatraj Dhakal and Yadunath Kandel.

The temple is going to be built with 50 lakhs from Gandaki Province Ministry of Tourism. For this, the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality prepared a DPR with a cost of 110 million last year.
