TIA General Manager Premnath Thakur suspended

 

KATHMANDU, Feb 10:Tribhuvan International Airport General Manager Premnath Thakur has been suspended.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has informed that a letter has been sent to General Manager Thakur for suspension.

Rajendra Kumar KC, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, says  thakur has been suspended for investigation after an audio conversation of Thakur seeking illegal favours from  representative of Thai Smile Airways  came to light.

It appears that he had a conversation with a representative of Thai Smile Airways with the intention of taking advantage.

Rajendra Kumar KC, joint secretary of the ministry informed that the letter of suspension was sent to the director general by the ministerial decision. The ministry and the  Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) are also going to start an investigation against General Manager Thakur
