Nepal Chamber's suggests to minister Kirati to make one Nepali one tourist strategy

KATHMANDU, Feb 09:The Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has requested the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, to come up with a plan to introduce 'one Nepali, one tourist'. In a meeting with Minister Kirati on Wednesday at Singha Durbar, the NCC suggested that lakhs of tourists can be brought in by making a strategic plan of 'one Nepali one tourist'.

The NCC  has also suggested various 18 points to Minister Kirati. Presenting the letter of recommendation, NCC President Malla said that millions of tourists can be brought in by mobilizing Nepalese embassies and non-resident Nepalis abroad. He also said that a solid strategic plan is necessary for this. President Malla said that the country's economy is shrinking and the economy should be sustainable and prosperous by increasing tourism activities.

President Malla emphasized that the important tourist sites of Nepal should be promoted through international mass media. He said that it is necessary to promote the world's highest peak, Everest, 8 mountains above 8000 meters, Pashupati, Lumbini, etc. at the international level. President Malla said that monuments of national importance and places on the world heritage list should be protected and promoted.

President Malla also asked Minister Kirati to take diplomatic initiatives to remove Nepal's airspace from the black list of the European Union. Also, President Malla emphasized that the process of adding more aircraft to Nepal Airlines should be started immediately by improving the structure of the Nepal Airlines Corporation and the international airport.

He also suggested bringing a separate package targeting China and India, which have huge populations. President Malla said, "Due to the limit that Indian tourists can bring only 25,000 rupees with them when they come to Nepal, the tourism business has not been able to get the desired benefits.

NCC said  that visa fees should be free for foreign tourists for a certain period of time.

In the meeting with the NCC, Minister Kirati said them that they are planning to facilitate visas for foreign tourists for some time to increase the tourism activity. He said, "Compared to other countries, Nepal has not become an attractive destination because visa fees and air fares are very expensive for tourists coming to Nepal. I have started facilitation for this. He said that many improvements are needed for the development of the tourism sector.
