Wooden staircase constructed in main temple in Pashupati

KATHMANDU, Feb 07:In preparation for Mahashivratri, a wooden staircase has been constructed in the western part of the main temple in Pashupati area.

Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, Member Secretary of Pashupati Area Development Trust , said that the iron staircase was removed and a heritage-friendly wooden staircase was placed on the west side of the original temple. From this, it is believed that many pilgrims can be seen in a short time on Mahashivratri.

Gourishankar Parajuli, Head of the Culture Division of trust , said that the Nepali Army's Kali Dal Battalion also helped in the construction of heritage-friendly wooden stairs. It is said that the wooden stairs have been placed so as not to affect the religious, cultural, archaeological and natural beauty of the Pashupati area.

The Trust also said that there is a plan to extend the wooden staircase from the western part of the main temple to other parts as well. In preparation for Mahashivratri, painting and maintenance work has also been started in the Pashupati area.
