Tourism Minister Kirati urges EU to remove Nepal from aviation blacklist
KATHMANDU, Jan 30:Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has requested the Ambassador of France to Nepal, Gilles Bourbao, to take the initiative to remove Nepal's aviation sector from the blacklist of the European Union (EU). Minister Kirati made this request in a meeting at the ministry on Monday.
After the plane accident in Pokhara on January 15, the EU has indicated that the blacklist will be extended even further. Nepal's aviation sector has been on the EU blacklist since 2013.
Minister Kirati has informed that during the meeting, there was also a discussion about the initiative to bring nopal, saying that the statues of archeological importance lost from Nepal are in the museum of France.
It is said that contemporary issues of Nepal's culture, tourism and civil aviation were also discussed with Ambassador Gilles.
