Wah Cardamom Campaign lunches Nepali recipe book
KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Wah! Cardamom Campaign has launched the first recipe book with traditional and fusion Nepali recipes prepared using cardamom. The book contains over 40 recipes specially selected by Masterchef Santosh Shah and trainees and other chefs.
The book also includes recipes for preparing spices for evergreen dishes like sekua, tea and kheer. The recipes included in the book are collected from the cooking competition among the trainees organized in the first phase of the Wah Aalinchi Abhiyan. Cardamom was used as the main ingredient in the competition, which was attended by professional chefs from hotels in Biratnagar, Sauraha and Kathmandu and young trainees from culinary schools. Each recipe was selected and tested by a team of professional chefs in Kathmandu.
In month of July 2022, Nepal Cardamom Traders Federation in collaboration with Hotel Association Nepal with support of Ministry of Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives,Province 1, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Province 1, and Swiss Government Development Cooperation (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation) was launched wow cardamom campaign.
The campaign focuses on increasing awareness on the use and consumption of cardamom among domestic and commercial consumers.
The campaign aims to inform Nepali households about the benefits and taste of cardamom. It is said that the Wah Cardamom Campaign, which is currently in its second phase, aims to promote the use and consumption of cardamom in Nepali markets and households.
