Tourism State Minister Sirpali instructs to department of tourism to bring closed hotels into operation

KATHMANDU, Jan 25: Minister of State for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sushila Sirpali Thakuri has instructed the department of tourism to bring hotels which have been closed for a long time in the country into operation.

In the briefing program held at the Department of Tourism on Tuesday, after giving the list of big hotels including Hotel Annapurna, Fulbari Resort, which have been closed for a long time, he gave instructions to bring these hotels into operation immediately.

The Department of Tourism is a related body. Now prepare the report. During the briefing by this body, not only information but also some problems can be suggested! What to do if the hotel is not in operation had to be concluded. It is necessary to run the closed hotels immediately State Minister Thakuri said.

Hotel Annapurna has been closed since covid, while Fulbari Resort in Pokhara has been closed for about a decade due to financial problems.

He said that it is necessary to move forward by addressing the deficiency seen in the promotion of the tourism sector as a whole. Tourism is the basis of prosperity, revolution and good governance. Prosperity is not just bringing investment. It is necessary to use the available resources.'' It is an expert department , the ministry will assist in policy.

She said that the expansion of tourism should not be limited to Kathmandu and Pokhara, but the potential of all the seven provinces should be revealed.
