CAAN's instructions to take action 3 pilots of Nepal Airlines

KATHMANDU, Jan 23: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has recommended action against three pilots of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).

The CAAN has recommended action against three pilots of Nepal Airlines after disobeying Air Traffic Control (ATC) instructions while landing at Hong Kong Airport last Friday.

Jagannath Niraula, spokesperson of the  CAAN, said that the pilot has been instructed to take action for not following the instructions of the Hong Kong Airport ATC.

Pilots Nara Bahadur Bishwakarma, Rajesh Kushwaha and Uddhav Ghimire have been take action.

Hong Kong ATC's instructions were not obeyed, the civil aviation there informed us," he said, "on this basis, CAAN has instructed the NAC to suspend the three pilots."

According to him, the NAC will take further steps in this regard.

The NAC has said that it is not certain how long the three pilots have been suspended. Archana Khadka, spokesperson of the NAC, said that they were suspended as soon as CAAN take action, but the matter has not yet been decided as further study/research is pending.

He said that the NAC will study the incident in detail and decide how to proceed with the action against them.
