EU's team visit to Nepal postpones due to Yeti Airlines plane accident

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The European Union (EU) team will not come immediately for the air safety audit.

The agenda of the European Union (EU) to reach Seti river gorge, the plane crash site of Yeti Airlines in Pokhara and prepare an on-site study report, has been postponed for some time.

The EU and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) issued a joint statement and said that the schedule of the on-site study report has been postponed for the time being.

This type of study is mandated by the EU Air Safety Committee. According to the statement, after the accident, the authority has postponed the on-site inspection for some time because it has to pay attention to other miscellaneous work related to the accident.

The EU team will come to Nepal soon to inspect the accident site and prepare a report.

The statement was signed on behalf of the EU by EU Ambassador to Nepal Nona Deprez and Director General of the CAAN Pradeep Adhikari.
