Domestic airlines adds flights on Taplejung-Bhadrapur

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Sita Air will operate Kathmandu-Taplejung-Kathmandu and Taplejung-Bhadrapur-Taplejung flights from Wednesday. The flight has been added as the traffic of tourists and pilgrims increases in Taplejung.

Two companies, Nepal Airlines and Sita Air, are going to fly to Suketar Airport. Shiri Khadka, head of the office, said that while Sita Air is scheduled to fly from Suketar Airport three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Sita Air will fly twice on Wednesdays. According to him, there will be two flights from Taplejung to Bhadrapur and Kathmandu in Jhapa on Wednesday.

Similarly, 'Station Incharge' Lokendra Hangam Limbu said that NAC's plane, which is flying Kathmandu-Taplejung-Kathmandu four times a week, is also preparing to fly Taplejung-Biratnagar once a week.

He informed that a schedule is being made to fly Taplejung-Biratnagar at least once a week targeting the capital of Province No. 1. He said that the flight schedule of Taplejung-Biratnagar will also be decided along with the schedule of Nepal Airlines TwinOtter aircraft taking off from Falgunanda Sukilumba Airport in Ilam.

Earlier, Sita Air was flying Kathmandu-Taplejung-Kathmandu, but the flight was suspended due to low visibility during the rainy season. It is said that the flights have been continued as the weather will clear and the traffic of tourists will also increase. In-charge Khadka informed that the fare of Sita Air from Taplejung to Bhadrapur is 5385 rupees and 9285 rupees for Kathmandu.
