Expert team of manufacturing company to study ATR in Nepal

POKHARA, Jan 18: An expert team from France has arrived in Nepal to study the ATR plane crash of Yeti Airlines in Pokhara on Sunday morning.

Suresh Adhikari, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation informed that a nine-member expert team of ATR aircraft manufacturers has arrived in Nepal. "A nine-member expert team from the ATR manufacturing company has arrived in Pokhara today", he said, 'After the plane crash, interest has increased nationally and internationally.'

After the plane crash, the government has formed a five-member accident investigation commission under the coordination of former secretary Nagendra Ghimire.


Among the members of the commission are retired Lieutenant Deepak Prasad Bastola and retired Captain Sunil Pradhan, air maintenance expert Ekaraj Jang Thapa and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Budhisagar Lamichhane are the member secretaries of the commission. The commission has already started the investigation.

The bodies of 70 people who were involved in the plane crash have been recovered and the search for the remaining two is still ongoing.
