Himalaya Airlines started flight Kathmandu-Beijing

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: Himalaya Airlines has started its first flight to Beijing, the capital of China.

The airline has started the Kathmandu-Beijing flight for the first time on Tuesday. According to Tribhuvan International Airport General Manager Premnath Thakur, the plane took off from Kathmandu at 10:40 this morning and landed at Tasing International Airport in Beijing. This is the first direct flight between Kathmandu and Beijing in Nepal.

After almost three years, foreign international airlines have started flying to Beijing, the capital of China. Himalaya Airlines is said to be the first among them. Himalaya Airlines will fly once a week to Beijing Tasing International Airport, the capital's new airport. China has suspended all international flights since March 1, 2020 after the Covid-19 epidemic.

Now China's China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Beijing Capital Airlines and Himalaya Airlines have also started flying.

Among them, it is said that Himalaya will fly to the airport once a week from Kathmandu and China Southern will fly to Hong Kong three times a week. Now passengers can go to various countries in Europe, America, Asia and Australia through Beijing.

For that, China has announced a 144-hour visa-free policy. The same policy will apply to Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei regions during that period. Beijing's second international airport was opened for flights on October 27, 2019, but was closed five months later due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
