48 bodies brought to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: The bodies of 48 people who lost their lives in the plane crash of Yeti Airlines in Pokhara have been brought to Kathmandu.

The bodies of 48 people whose post-mortem could not be done in Pokhara were brought to TU Teaching Hospital Maharajganj for post-mortem.

Postmortem of 24 people is being done at Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences Gandaki Teaching Hospital. According to the hospital, the bodies of some of them were handed over to their relatives after post-mortem.

As some of the dead bodies are unidentifiable, they have to be tested for their DNA, so they were brought to Kathmandu.

A Yeti Airlines plane with 72 people on board crashed in Pokhara on Sunday. Out of which the bodies of 70 people have been found, while the status of 2 people is still unknown.
