Yeti Air plane crash deals major blow to Nepal's aviation and tourism industry: TAAN

KATHMANDU, Jan 16:Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), the umbrella organization of Nepal's mountain tourism, has said that the plane crash in Pokhara, the tourist capital of the country, has dealt a major blow to Nepal's aviation and tourism sector. TAAN General Secretary Vinod Sapkota issued a statement and said that the accident of Yeti Airlines Nine N-ANC-ATR 72500 aircraft which flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara at 10:32 on Sunday, January 15th, while landing at Pokhara Airport, has caused a great shock to Nepal's aviation and tourism sector.

"The air crash has caused irreparable damage to Nepal's tourism sector, which has recently been affected by the corona virus pandemic," said a statement issued by TAAN. General Secretary Sapkota said that the accident in Pokhara, which is the tourist capital, has not only caused a big shock not only to the air sector of Nepal, but also to the entire tourism sector of the country.

TAAN President Nilhari Bastola said that the state will take important steps to keep the Nepali sky and Nepal's airspace safe. He said that the responsible agencies of the state will think deeply about how such accidents can be reduced in the future and take steps.
