Pokhara plane crash: Rescue works postponed till Monday morning

POKHARA, Jan 16: The search and rescue works in the Yeti Airlines' plane crash in Pokhara has been over for Sunday to resume early Monday morning .

The search and rescue works will resume on Monday morning, said Chief District Officer in Kaski, Tek Bahadur KC, adding that it was halted for today due to night and difficult site for search.

Among those onboard, four passengers are still missing. "The identified dead bodies would be handed over to the concerned relatives of Pokhara, while efforts are underway to send the dead bodies of the passengers from Kathmandu and from foreign countries to Kathmandu in helicopter," he added.

The plane bound to Pokhara from Kathmandu on Sunday morning had crash-landed near the airport- in the Seti Gorge. 

It is said this is the first such dreadful plane accident occurred in domestic aviation in Nepal. Seventy-two persons including four crew members were onboard. There were 53 Nepali, five Indian, four Russian, each one Irish, Australian, Argentinian, and France, and two Korean passengers aboard. 

Similarly, the crew members were Kamal KC, Anju Khatiwada, Srijana Hongchun and Oshin Ale Magar.
