Govt directive to conduct mandatory technical test before flying plane

KATHMANDU, Jan 15: The government has instructed all domestic airlines to conduct mandatory technical tests before flights to prevent air crash.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel informed that the emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held today at the Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, instructed the Civil Aviation Authority to monitor whether or not the aircraft was tested.

"We expect that the provision of mandatory technical inspection of domestic flights will help reduce air crash", he said while informing about the decision of the meeting, "The meeting has expressed deep sorrow over the incident." Condolences to the deceased."

The meeting expressed deep condolences to the families of those who died in the crash. The meeting has decided to mourn the accident and observe a public holiday on Monday, January 16.

He informed that it has been decided to establish a call center at Tribhuvan Airport to manage contact and reliable information for families, relatives and other stakeholders who want to get information about the incident.

The government has also decided to make necessary arrangements to facilitate those who want to understand the earthly body and take it to their respective places. He said that after the incident, information about it was taken and necessary instructions were given for immediate rescue. "The prime minister is working on mobilizing all the agencies of the state", he said, "The related agencies of the state are being operated accordingly."

He said that at around 11 o'clock this morning, a very tragic incident occurred in the history of Nepal's air crash. Yeti Airlines plane flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara crashed in
gorge of Seti river in Pokhara this morning. There were 72 people on the plane, including crew member Kamal KC(Pilot).
