Nepalgunj flights affected due to bad weather

NEPALGUNJ, Jan 12: Daily flights from Nepalgunj Airport to the hilly areas have started to be affected due to the storm and wind. Flights from Nepalgunj airport to the hilly areas are delayed and postponed.

Locals say that there is only one flight every day, but there are not many passengers. Locals said that although the capacity of the ship is 18 people, only 12 to 15 people are loaded on the ship every day.

There are 20 to 25 daily flights from Nepalgunj Airport in normal weather. There are also flights from the airport to various hilly districts including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Humla, Jumla, Mugu, Bajura, Rukum districts.

The head of Nepalgunj Civil Aviation Authority, Suresh Prasad Khanal, said that flights from the airport are being affected during the winter season due to wind and cold waves.

Khanal said that the morning flight is delayed by two to three hours due to bad weather.

Chief Khanal said that due to the cold, people in the hilly areas are traveling by plane in very small quantities. He said that airlines are carrying cargo after people start reducing their travel on board.

Major Khanal said that the airlines are working together to limit the number of passengers.
