Western Travel Mart to be organizes to promote tourism

NEPALGUNJ, Jan 11: Western Travel Mart is going to be organized in Nepalgunj to promote tourism in West Nepal. Shreeram Sigdel, president of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA Nepalgunj), said that preparations have been made for the mart from January 29th to 31th with the aim of economic development by promoting the tourist destination.

According to him, the Mart, which is going to be organized in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, will be made of special importance by giving priority to the tourist destinations and art culture of Karnali and Lumbini provinces.

President Sigdel said that the guests who come to the mart are prepared to visit the religious and tourist destinations of the region, visit the Banke and Bardia National Parks, rafting on the Karnali river, Rara trip and mountain flight from the stalls related to tourism.

Two historical religious places of Banke from Mart, Baba Barfani and Santaneshwor Mahadev Temple of Narayanpur have been targeted to be specially promoted. Similarly, he said that the organizer NATTA will work for the promotion of Shaligram and materials made from 'Allo', which is an original product of Nepal.

Rachna Pant, President of Lumbini Province of NATTA, said that during the Mart, Nepalese tourism businessmen and industrialists will be invited to discuss the creation of an investment environment in Western Nepal and the search for possibilities.

He asserted that they are working with the goal of introducing West Nepal to the world in the field of tourism as the entire country can benefit from the development of the tourism sector. Krishna Prasad Shrestha, District Coordinator of Tourism Promotion Forum, said that it is a matter of pride for the tourism businessmen of the western region to participate in the mart that is going to be held in Nepalgunj for the second time.

He said that preparations are being made to bring tourism professionals and tourists from India's Delhi, Agra, Gonda, Banaras and Lucknow to the Travel Mart.
